Rumyana Stoyanova advances to semifinals at U19 rowing world championship in Plovdiv
Bulgarian rower Rumyana Stoyanova qualified for the semifinals of the Under‑19 World Rowing Championships held at the rowing base in Plovdiv, posting a time of 7:53.38 and finishing ahead of Croatia’s Petra Mardesic. She will compete in Final B, where she placed fifth in her semifinal and will race for positions seven to twelve.
The event features 655 athletes from 54 nations, with around 2,000 international visitors contributing to the local economy. Bulgaria is represented by six boats and 16 rowers, including Daniel Marinov, who finished second in the men’s Final D.
The championships have drawn full stands at the Plovdiv venue, highlighting strong spectator interest in the sport within the country.
