Run51 charity race raises 27,000 euros at Istrana military airport
The third edition of the Run51 charity race, held on Sunday, September 27, drew over 3,700 participants to the Istrana military airport. Organized by the Montello Runners Club in collaboration with the 51° Stormo, the event featured a 10-kilometer competitive race alongside 5 and 10-kilometer non-competitive routes through the airport's taxiways and grounds.
The event raised 27,000 euros for charitable causes. The proceeds will be split between the Italian Air Force's 'Un dono dal cielo' project—supporting three pediatric hospitals, including the Fondazione Buzzi in Milan—and the pediatric department of the Ca’ Foncello Hospital to fund new equipment.
Colonel Marco Mangini, Commander of the 51° Stormo, expressed gratitude for the community's high level of engagement and support for the initiative.
