Runaway horses cause traffic disruptions in Italy

In Pietrasanta, a white horse escaped from its enclosure on 4 July and roamed the streets, prompting a police patrol to intervene. After a citizen with equine experience helped, the animal was safely captured and returned to its owner, who is now being investigated for possible negligence.

On a highway near Naples, motorists discovered an injured and agitated horse at kilometre 748 and stopped traffic to prevent a crash. Police road units arrived, and the animal was immobilised while awaiting veterinary assistance. Local officials called for an inquiry into how the horse escaped, raising concerns about illegal stables or racing circuits.
