Runcorn man sentenced after dog leads police to his home

A man in Runcorn, United Kingdom, was sentenced to three months in prison after a police chase involving an electric scooter and his own dog.

In February, Cheshire Police observed 41-year-old Charles Foy riding an electric scooter illegally on a public road while accompanied by two dogs. Upon being ordered to stop, Foy attempted to flee through narrow alleys and dead ends. However, one of his dogs, a Labrador, was unable to keep pace with the scooter and eventually led officers directly to Foy's residence on Beaconsfield Road.

Police located the suspect hiding in the attic of his home. Foy was subsequently convicted of several offenses, including failing to stop for police, driving while prohibited, operating an uninsured vehicle, and failing to provide a drug sample.
