Réunion to host 2026 Tour de l'île cycling race and community rides

France Télévisions' Réunion La 1ère will provide extensive quadrimedia coverage of the 79th Tour de l'île, scheduled from 1 to 9 August 2026. The race will feature local and international teams tackling a demanding nine‑day course across the island’s hilly terrain, with live broadcasts on TV, radio, web and social platforms.

On 30 August 2026, the Territoire de l’Ouest will organise a free, family‑friendly bike rally across the western part of the island. Two routes—approximately 32 km from La Possession and 29 km from Saint‑Leu—will include heritage stops, refreshments and shuttle services, encouraging participation from cyclists aged 12 and older.

Both events aim to promote cycling culture in Réunion, offering spectators and participants immersive experiences of the island’s landscapes and sporting heritage.
