Running events in Haarlem and Thesinge see record participation

Major running anniversaries were celebrated in the Netherlands with record participation in both Haarlem and Thesinge.

The 40th edition of the Run2Day Halve van Haarlem saw a record-breaking 14,000 participants from 30 different countries. The event featured enhanced professional amenities, including a new mobile app for live tracking and personalized medal engraving. The half marathon remained the flagship race, attracting over 9,400 runners.

In Thesinge, the Thaisner Dörpsrun celebrated its anniversary with approximately 500 registered participants. This milestone edition introduced the village's first full marathon. Originally founded in 2007 as a local fundraiser, the event now attracts runners from across the country. Proceeds from the event support the Noordelijke Cara Stichting, an organization dedicated to asthma research.
