Rupert Grint to reprise Ron Weasley role on Broadway

Rupert Grint is set to reprise his iconic role as Ron Weasley in the Broadway production of ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ at the Lyric Theatre. The British actor will portray the adult version of the character for a limited 17-week engagement, running from February 2 to May 30, 2027.

Grint, who played the role in all eight original films between 2001 and 2011, expressed that returning to the character is a “full-circle” moment. He noted the personal significance of playing the role now that he is a father, describing the experience as both “familiar and completely new.”

He joins fellow original cast member Tom Felton, who has been performing as the adult Draco Malfoy. However, the two will not share the stage, as Felton is scheduled to conclude his run in January 2027, several weeks before Grint’s debut. Pre-sales for the engagement are expected to open on September 1.
