Rupert Lowe projected to earn X payouts comparable to MP salary

Rupert Lowe, leader of Restore Britain and Member of Parliament, is projected to earn income from the social media platform X that rivals his official parliamentary salary. According to declarations in the register of MPs' financial interests, Lowe has earned an average of £932 per hour for his posts on the platform since the start of the year.

His earnings have seen a significant increase, with his hourly rate reaching £1,476 since June. Lowe’s total income from X since the 2024 general election has exceeded £105,000. If current trends continue, his 2026 earnings from the platform could approach the standard MP annual salary of £98,599.

Lowe, who represents Great Yarmouth, has stated that he donates his net MP salary to charities and local causes. The surge in his earnings under X’s revenue-sharing scheme has drawn criticism from campaigners who argue the platform’s model incentivizes divisive political content.
