Rural labor sector faces wage and training challenges
The rural labor sector faces ongoing challenges regarding wages, formal employment, and living conditions. Rodrigo Esponda, a delegate for RENATRE Buenos Aires Norte, noted that while there have been advancements in working conditions, significant issues remain.
A primary focus is the improvement of income levels. Wage negotiations are conducted through the Comisión Nacional de Trabajo Agrario (CNTA), involving representatives from both workers and employers.
Beyond remuneration, the agenda includes improving housing conditions, access to services, and professional training. RENATRE is currently implementing training courses to help workers acquire new skills, which is seen as a vital tool for improving employment opportunities and adapting to the evolving agricultural landscape.
