Rural student transportation services restored in Colombia and Chile

In Marinilla, Colombia, more than 300 students from the Rosalía Hoyos, Francisco Manzueto, and Rural Técnico institutions have received transportation subsidies. The municipal administration is covering round-trip travel between homes and schools for the remainder of the school year to improve attendance and retention in rural areas.

In Ovalle, Chile, regular van services for students at the Colegio Yungay Special Education School are set to resume on October 1. The service disruption, which affected sectors such as Tabalí, Limarí, La Placa, La Torre, and San Julián, had caused a significant decrease in student attendance since the beginning of the year. The municipality is reinstating the service following a new contracting process.
