Rural tourism initiatives expand in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia

Developments in rural tourism are highlighted through unique local initiatives in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia. In Donja Čađavica, near Bijeljina, Darko Grujić operates the ‘Nirvana’ ranch, where he combines livestock farming with nature-based tourism. The ranch features donkeys, horses, cows, and bees, producing goods such as donkey milk and honey while offering visitors opportunities to interact with animals and nature.

In Croatia, the eco-ethno village of Stara Kapela in the Brod-Posavina County has completed the renovation of its local chapel. The village, which has historical roots dating back to 1275, has transformed into a tourist destination featuring ethnological collections, walking and cycling paths, and historical replicas. The project aims to preserve the region's cultural heritage and promote rural tourism in Slavonia.
