Rurbanism Tokyo Store opens in Kiyosumi Shirakawa

Rurbanism Co., Ltd. has opened the Rurbanism Tokyo Store in the Kiyosumi Shirakawa area of Tokyo. The store serves as a curation platform that blends elements of the rural and urban, offering a selection of contemporary Japanese ceramics alongside vintage furniture, lighting, textiles, plants, and music.

The store features works from 12 contemporary ceramicists, including Ryuji Iwasaki, Shohei Ono, and Toru Hatta. These pieces are displayed in environments that incorporate 20th-century designer furniture from figures such as Alvar Aalto and Hans J. Wegner, as well as modern lighting from brands like Spain’s Santa & Cole.

Following the store opening, a special exhibition titled ‘Rurbanism Exhibition’ is scheduled to take place at the Isetan Shinjuku main building from September 30 to October 27, 2026. This exhibition will showcase a curated mix of ceramics, vintage furniture, and lighting to present the brand's unique worldview.
