Ruse Municipality approves 2026 budget and honors Stefan Tsanev

The Ruse Municipal Council has approved the 2026 municipal budget, totaling approximately 155.4 million euros. This figure represents a 2.5% increase compared to the previous year. The largest portion of the budget, exceeding 56 million euros, is allocated to education. Other significant expenditures include roughly 28 million euros for housing, utilities, and environmental protection, and over 22 million euros for social activities.

In addition to financial planning, the council unanimously awarded the title of Honorary Citizen of Ruse to writer, poet, and playwright Stefan Tsanev in recognition of his 90th anniversary and his status as a national authority.

Other legislative actions included the approval of the 2025 budget execution report, the granting of management rights for the Sexaginta Prista Roman fortress, and an appeal to the Council of Ministers regarding the urgent construction of the Ruse–Veliko Tarnovo highway.
