Ruse Province to test early warning sirens on October 1

The Ruse Province in Bulgaria will conduct a test of its early warning and public notification sirens on October 1 at 11:00 AM. The exercise is part of a national system tested twice annually, in April and October.

The test will begin with a voice message stating, “Attention! Attention! Attention! A technical check is being performed.” This will be followed by three announcements regarding the national alarm signal, after which an acoustic signal will sound for two minutes. The procedure will conclude with announcements marking the end of the alarm and the technical check.

Regional Governor Lyubomir Vladimirov has coordinated with local institutions to ensure the exercise proceeds smoothly. An operational group from the Regional Directorate for Fire Safety and Civil Protection will manage the preparations, including a specialized team to verify signal audibility across the region. Additionally, the BG-ALERT system is expected to be activated, sending a one-time notification in both Bulgarian and English to mobile devices throughout the country.
