Rush Announces 2027 Chile Stadium Tour After Paul McCartney Encouragement
Progressive‑rock legends Rush have confirmed a comeback tour, scheduling two shows in Chile at the Estadio Bicentenario de La Florida on 17 January and 19 January 2027. The decision to tour followed a backstage encounter with Paul McCartney at a Taylor Hawkins tribute concert, where McCartney told the band, “It’s in our blood, we have to get out and do it,” urging them to resume performing.
Band members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson described the preparation as the most demanding of their careers, rehearsing up to 24 nights in a 27‑day stretch and undertaking intensive physical training to meet the rigors of their catalog.
The Chilean dates mark Rush’s first live appearances since an eleven‑year hiatus, reflecting both a tribute to their late drummer Neil Peart and a renewed commitment to deliver their music at full intensity.
