Rush members praise Quebec duo Angine de Poitrine
Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, members of the legendary progressive rock band Rush, have expressed high praise for the Quebec-based instrumental duo Angine de Poitrine. The duo has gained significant attention in the experimental rock scene for their use of microtonal virtuosity, loop pedals, and an eccentric, masked stage presence.
In an interview with Radio Futuro, Geddy Lee described the duo as “fantastic,” noting that their sound is “uncommon, peculiar, and idiosyncratic.” He compared their complexity to elements of Primus and Rush, calling their music some of the most “fun and exciting” he has heard in a long time.
Alex Lifeson also commended the group, highlighting their technical mastery and the “hypnotic” nature of their arrangements. He specifically noted their ability to use technology and loop pedals to build complex layers of sound, describing their microtonal approach as “exotic and simply fascinating.”
