Rush members rule out new music amid ongoing tour

Rush members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson have stated that there are currently no plans to record new music. In recent interviews, Lee explained that the band is focusing entirely on their “Fifty Something” tour, which is scheduled to run until April 2027.

Lee noted that the band is currently preoccupied with mastering their existing catalog, stating, “We already have enough to do. We are still trying to remember the old songs and play them.” The group is also reportedly in discussions regarding a potential residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas.

Lifeson highlighted the intense preparation required for their return to the stage after an eleven-year hiatus. The tour serves to celebrate the band's five-decade career and the legacy of the late drummer Neil Peart. The musicians emphasized that the rigorous rehearsal schedule and performance demands leave little room for studio work at this time.
