Rush returns for ‘Fifty Something’ tour with new drummer Anika Nilles

The rock band Rush has returned to performing with their ‘Fifty Something’ tour, marking their first concert in eleven years following the death of drummer Neil Peart. The lineup now features German drummer Anika Nilles and keyboardist Loren Gold.

During the tour kickoff at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, the band experienced a chaotic start when thick stage fog obscured visibility, making it difficult for Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson to see the stage or monitor Nilles.

Nilles has spent a year rehearsing approximately 43 complex songs to prepare for the tour. Band members have noted her intense work ethic and the developing chemistry within the new lineup, which has included lighthearted onstage pranks during recent performances in cities such as Detroit.
