Neil Peart documentary to premiere at Toronto Film Festival

The documentary ‘Neil Peart: No One’s Disciple’, directed by Scot McFayden and Sam Dunn, is scheduled for its world premiere at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival. The film will have screenings on September 16, 17, and 19 at the Princess of Wales Theatre, followed by a broadcast on Canada’s CBC on September 23 as part of ‘The Passionate Eye’ series.

The documentary explores the life and musical influence of the late Rush drummer through archival footage and interviews. It features appearances by Rush members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, alongside prominent drummers including Stewart Copeland, Chad Smith, and Danny Carey.

In a related development, the band Rush is currently performing their ‘Fifty Something’ tour. They are filming four sold-out shows at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena in August to potentially produce a concert movie. This tour serves as a tribute to Peart, who passed away in 2020.
