Rusinów Chicken Coop Fire Kills 13,000 Poultry in Poland

A massive fire broke out in a chicken coop in the village of Rusinów, Kolbuszowa County, on 26 July 2026. The brick building measured about 100 × 12 m and housed roughly 13,000 chickens. Nineteen fire‑brigade units from Kolbuszowa, Tarnobrzeg and nearby volunteer stations responded, using water streams and thermal cameras before dismantling the ruined structure. The roof collapsed under the flames, crushing the birds. No people were injured.

Fire officials said the cause of the blaze is still under police investigation. The incident highlights the risk of livestock‑related fires and the importance of maintaining safe distances between storage structures and ignition sources on farms.
