Ruspoli family rents out 16th-century Roman palace
Princess Giacinta Ruspoli and her mother, Princess Maria Pia, have begun renting out the family’s ancestral home, the 16th-century Ruspoli Bonaparte Residence in Rome, to help fund its upkeep.
The property features four suites, each exceeding 1,000 square feet, with nightly rates starting at approximately $470. This price includes breakfast and butler service. Guests also receive access to Castello Ruspoli, a renovated 10-suite boutique hotel located in a village roughly 30 miles north of Rome.
This shift toward commercial hospitality follows the cessation of legal recognition for Italian nobility in 1946. Giacinta Ruspoli described the family as “mere keepers” of the properties, expressing a desire to share their heritage with the public.
