Russell Westbrook draws EuroLeague interest as NBA future hangs in balance

NBA veteran Russell Westbrook, 37, remains unsigned and has attracted strong interest from several EuroLeague clubs. Reporter Evan Sidery noted that "Russell Westbrook is receiving strong interest from EuroLeague teams overseas. Westbrook wants to remain in the NBA, but this appears to be the most realistic option currently."

Teams mentioned as potential destinations include Greek side Panathinaikos, Israeli club Hapoel Tel Aviv and Dubai Basketball Club. Westbrook, a former NBA MVP, has played most of his career with the Oklahoma City Thunder and has had short stints with the Houston Rockets, Washington Wizards, Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers and Denver Nuggets. While he prefers to stay in the United States, the EuroLeague is seen as the most viable next step for his career.
