Russell Westbrook faces EuroLeague interest as NBA future remains unclear

Thirty‑seven‑year‑old former MVP Russell Westbrook finished the 2025‑26 season with the Sacramento Kings, appearing in 64 games and posting averages of 15.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 6.7 assists. As free agency opens, no NBA team has offered him a contract for the next season, leaving his career path uncertain.

According to EuroLeague insider Evan Sidery, several EuroLeague clubs have expressed interest and are prepared to offer multi‑million‑dollar contracts, making a move to Europe a realistic option. Greek media have highlighted the EuroLeague as the most plausible destination and note earlier rumors of interest from Israel’s Hapoel Tel Aviv. The Miami Heat have also been mentioned as a possible backup plan should they fail to secure LeBron James.

If Westbrook chooses Europe, it would represent the first time the veteran point guard leaves the NBA, a potential turning point in his 18‑year career.
