Russia accelerates Su-34 production and deploys Su-35s against Patriot radars

Russia is significantly increasing the production of its Su-34 tactical bomber. According to reports, the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) has accelerated manufacturing at the Novosibirsk Aviation Plant. Rostec previously stated that Su-34 production had more than doubled over a two-year period, with current output levels exceeding any domestic fighter production since the dissolution of the Soviet Union.

In addition to production increases, Russian aviation assets are being actively deployed in the conflict in Ukraine. Recent footage shows a Russian Su-35 fighter jet launching a Kh-31PM anti-radiation missile aimed at a Ukrainian Patriot air defense radar system. The Kh-31PM utilizes a multi-band passive seeker to detect and track electromagnetic radiation from enemy radars, allowing for suppression of enemy air defenses (SEAD) from distances of approximately 125 km.
