Russia Allocates 2.6 Billion Rubles to Produce Il‑114‑300 Turboprop Aircraft

The Russian government announced a 2.6 billion‑ruble (about $32.8 million) allocation to complete the first three Il‑114‑300 turboprop aircraft, developed by United Aircraft Corporation’s Ilyushin division. Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said the funding, confirmed in July 2026, is intended to keep the production line operating and replace aging domestic and foreign aircraft on regional routes.

At the same time, the state increased investment in the MC‑21 narrow‑body programme, targeting an annual output of 36 aircraft by 2032 and a certification deadline of June 2027. The MC‑21‑310, powered by the Russian‑built PD‑14 engine, is slated for delivery to Aeroflot, with 198 units ordered. The funding boost aims to sustain Russia’s civil aviation sector amid Western sanctions that have limited access to foreign aircraft.
