Russia and Jordan trade volume increases by one-third
Trade exchange between Russia and Jordan increased by one-third during the first half of 2026, according to an announcement from the office of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev.
The increase was highlighted during the seventh meeting of the Russian-Jordanian intergovernmental committee for the development of trade, economic, scientific, and technical cooperation. Agricultural product supplies constitute a significant portion of the bilateral trade volume, though Russia also identified substantial potential for industrial cooperation.
Beyond trade, the two nations discussed expanding strategic cooperation in several sectors. Russia expressed readiness to share expertise in geological studies. In the healthcare sector, cooperation areas include staff training, the application of digital technologies, disease prevention, and the supply of medical products. The meeting concluded with the signing of a final protocol and documents regarding cooperation between the customs departments and ministries of health of both countries.
