Russia and Oman trade reaches 10-year high of $1.5 billion

Bilateral trade between Russia and Oman reached $1.5 billion during the first seven months of 2026, marking its highest level in a decade. Sergei Shoigu, Secretary of Russia’s Security Council, announced the figures during talks in Moscow with Idris Al-Kindi, Secretary General of Oman’s National Security Council.

Shoigu noted that trade has increased 22-fold during this period. This growth follows a steady expansion that began in 2020, including a 62.3% increase in trade in the four years leading up to 2024. Russian investment in Oman’s energy, logistics, and food security sectors has been a key driver of this momentum.

The trade relationship has diversified beyond oil and gas to include agriculture, metals, petrochemicals, machinery, IT services, and maritime logistics. Notably, Russia began significant shipments of refrigerated meat to Oman in 2025 to meet rising local demand for poultry and meat products.
