Russia and Ukraine exchange heavy drone and missile strikes
Russia and Ukraine have engaged in intense aerial and maritime exchanges. Ukraine reported that Russian missile and drone strikes targeted energy infrastructure, causing power outages in Kyiv, Dnipro, Donetsk, Sumy, and Kharkiv. Military experts noted the use of drones equipped with special cutting charge warheads (CRSN) designed to destroy high-voltage power lines and bridge structures.
On the Ukrainian side, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that forces attacked an oil and gas facility in Russia's Samara province. Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed to have intercepted 330 Ukrainian drones across 12 Russian regions, Crimea, and the Black Sea, and reported an attack on a cargo ship at the port of Chornomorsk.
Additionally, Russian strikes on Ukrainian data centers have caused collateral digital impacts, including the temporary downtime of major torrent and piracy websites such as 1337x and NordicQuality. Local telecommunications providers and the KyivStar headquarters also reported damage from the strikes.
