Russia and Ukraine exchange strikes as US-Canada trade war escalates

Russian and Ukrainian drone and missile strikes have resulted in at least 10 deaths. In Ukraine, a ballistic missile strike on a locomotive depot in Kyiv killed one person, while four others died in the Zaporizhzhia region and two in the Kyiv region. In Russia’s southern Krasnodar region, a Ukrainian drone strike killed three people, including two children.

Separately, the United States and Canada have entered a deeper trade war following the collapse of negotiations in Washington. The United States has imposed 50% tariffs on $20 billion worth of Canadian goods. Canada has scheduled September 8 as the start date for its retaliatory penalties.
