Russian military casualties reach record high in single day

British military intelligence reports that Russian forces suffered 2,090 casualties, including killed and wounded, on September 27. This figure represents the highest daily casualty count recorded since the start of the full-scale invasion in February 2022. Analysts attribute these high losses to intensive Russian offensive operations in the Donetsk region, particularly around the Dobropillia area and the so-called fortress belt.

Separately, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Ukrainian forces lost over 1,500 military personnel across various combat fronts within a 24-hour period. The Russian ministry also claimed that its air defense systems intercepted three guided aerial bombs, one HIMARS projectile, and 768 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles.

In terms of territorial shifts, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that its forces assumed control of the settlements of Shabelnoe in the Kharkiv region, as well as Yegorovka in the Zaporozhie region and Tolstodubovo.
