Russia and US agree to continue dialogue on Ukraine conflict
Russia and the United States have agreed to maintain communication regarding the conflict in Ukraine, according to Kirill Dmitriev, the Russian President’s special representative for investment and economic cooperation. Speaking at the Eurasian Economic Forum in Istanbul, Dmitriev noted that this decision follows a meeting in Saint Petersburg between Vladimir Putin and US special envoy Steve Witkoff.
In a related development, a local ceasefire has been reached in Alyoshki, located on the left bank of the Dnipro River. The White House announced the agreement, which is scheduled to take effect on October 29. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov credited Melania Trump with playing a coordinating role in organizing a humanitarian mission to the area, where the humanitarian situation has reportedly become severe.
Dmitriev also highlighted a diesel supply agreement between Russia and the US, stating it would positively influence global markets and strengthen Russia’s market position. He suggested that increased business arrangements between the two nations might encourage European companies to engage more actively, noting that Europe continues to purchase Russian gas despite rising prices.
