Russia authorizes state takeover of critical infrastructure amid grain and drone tensions

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree authorizing the state to take temporary control of critical infrastructure if private operators fail to adequately protect assets or repair damage following attacks. The decree covers vital sectors including energy, industry, transport, logistics, and communications. This move follows increased Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian targets, such as the recent attacks on four Ozon logistics centers and multiple Wildberries warehouses.

Separately, Joachim Rukwied, President of the German Farmers' Association, has warned that Russia is conducting a ‘grain war’ against German, European, and American farmers. Rukwied claims that Russia is utilizing its high harvest yields to flood the global market and artificially depress wheat prices, undermining the economic stability of Western agricultural producers.
