Russia builds secret drone bases near NATO borders

An investigation by The Telegraph, supported by satellite imagery and leaked documents, reveals that Russia has constructed at least 10 secret drone bases near the borders of Belarus and Ukraine. These facilities are equipped with advanced launch platforms for long-range kamikaze drones. Some of these sites are already being utilized to conduct aerial strikes against Ukraine.

Intelligence analysts from the US and Europe warn that this infrastructure poses a direct, long-term threat to NATO members. The new bases place several European regions, including Warsaw, within the strike range of high-tech Russian drones. Experts suggest Russia may be considering armed provocations in Poland, such as missile strikes on critical infrastructure or false flag operations designed to implicate Ukraine.

DroneSec, an intelligence firm, identified at least 59 specialized mechanical launch rails used to deploy unmanned aerial vehicles, noting that approximately 20 of these have recently been upgraded to handle more advanced, long-range models. In response, NATO officials have stated the alliance is prepared to defend all allied territory and is actively increasing its readiness to counter evolving drone threats.
