Russia claims control of several towns amid deadly drone strikes near Kyiv
Russian forces have reportedly seized control of several locations, including Rubizhne, Novo-Andreevka, and Khrabovshchina. While Russian state media TASS reported the seizure of Rubizhne in the Donetsk region, the city is geographically located in the Luhansk Oblast and has been under Russian occupation since May 2022.
In Ukraine, a Russian drone strike on a warehouse near Kyiv in the town of Myla resulted in at least 37 deaths. Ukrainian prosecutors have opened an investigation into the incident, which caused a large-scale fire and explosions at a site believed to be storing explosives. Additional Russian strikes caused fatalities in the Odessa region, Boryspil, and Kyiv.
During the same period, Ukraine launched retaliatory strikes. In the Russian border region of Belgorod, an attack caused three deaths and a fire at an Ozon e-commerce warehouse. An attack on Sevastopol in Crimea also resulted in one reported death.
