Russia claims external influence in Bosnia and Herzegovina elections failed
Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that attempts by external forces to influence elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina were unsuccessful. Speaking at a press conference, Zakharova noted that while final results are still being determined, citizens have exercised their democratic rights to elect representatives for the country and its entities, including Republika Srpska and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Zakharova emphasized that Russia remains committed to the Dayton Peace Agreement, focusing on the equality of the three constituent peoples and the two entities. She also called for the abolition of the Office of the High Representative, arguing that its activities undermine international efforts to maintain peace in the Balkans. Russia expressed its interest in the swift formation of government bodies to ensure regional stability and the continued development of Russo-Bosnian relations.
