FSB foils planned drone attack on Moscow-region defense plant

The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has announced the disruption of a planned attack on a strategic defense plant in the Moscow region. According to the agency, the plot involved the use of 35 FPV drones equipped with powerful explosives.

Authorities have detained eight individuals in connection with the operation. The FSB claims the drones were smuggled into Russia from Slovakia, traveling through Poland and Belarus. Two Moldovan citizens reportedly prepared a rented hangar for the launch before fleeing the country.

In a related incident, the FSB detained a foreign national in the Murmansk region near the Norwegian border. The individual, an expert in drones and artificial intelligence, allegedly confessed to contacting Ukrainian intelligence services via Telegram in 2023. He is accused of using a drone at a Moscow railway station to survey government buildings, transport infrastructure, and civilian gathering points.

Russian reports also identify Albert Vasiliev, a dual Ukrainian-American citizen known as 'Kievstoner', as a key figure allegedly involved in coordinating the drone attack plot.
