Russia condemns British missile support as Ukrainian missile intercepted

The Kremlin has criticized the United Kingdom’s decision to provide Ukraine with classified information regarding British-made components used in SCALP long-range cruise missiles. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that such support “adds fuel to the fire” and accused Britain of attempting to prevent progress toward a peaceful settlement. Moscow warned that its military is actively gathering data to identify and destroy missile production sites.

In a separate development in the Kursk Region, Russian volunteer air-defense units reportedly intercepted a Ukrainian FP-5 Flamingo cruise missile using machine-gun fire. Kursk Region Governor Aleksandr Khinshtein reported that the missile, which was flying at a low altitude, was heading toward a strategic facility in the Tula Region before crashing in a wooded area. The FP-5 Flamingo is a long-range missile developed by the Ukrainian defense company Fire Point.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy indicated that Russia is “not ready” for a ceasefire regarding attacks on agricultural vessels in the Black Sea, noting that Moscow is seeking to extend any potential deal to include attacks on Russian refineries and pipelines.
