Russia condemns Finnish President Stubb over support for Ukrainian strikes
Russian officials have sharply criticized Finnish President Alexander Stubb following his support for Ukrainian strikes deep within Russian territory. Stubb described such actions as a 'reasonable military strategy' intended to increase the costs of the war for Moscow and pressure Russia toward peace negotiations.
In response, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov accused Stubb of being on the 'side of war' and suggested his rhetoric had shifted from previous calls for normalization. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova and former President Dmitry Medvedev also issued harsh condemnations of the Finnish leader.
The diplomatic tension follows reports of Ukrainian drone strikes targeting Russian commercial infrastructure. The e-commerce company Ozon confirmed drone attacks on its logistics centers in Ufa and Orenburg, while other reports indicated strikes on Wildberries facilities. Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported retaliatory strikes against Ukrainian metallurgical plants, logistics hubs, and several ports.
