Russia denies plans to attack NATO members

The Kremlin has denied reports suggesting Russia has plans to attack NATO members, describing such claims as a “distortion of reality” and “horror stories” that do not reflect Moscow's true intentions.

Presidential spokesperson Dmitri Peskov addressed the reports following a recent visit to Moscow by CIA Director John Ratcliffe. While Western media suggested the visit was intended to warn the Kremlin against potential incursions into NATO territory, Peskov stated the meeting was to maintain “contacts between the security services” of both countries.

Peskov further accused European nations of pursuing an “aggressive policy” against Russia, labeling contrary reports as journalistic hoaxes. Additionally, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova warned the United Kingdom against “hostile steps,” stating that British weapons used in Ukraine against Russian territory could result in consequences for UK installations or equipment.

Regarding the conflict in Ukraine, Peskov noted that while working-level contacts with the United States continue, there is currently no concrete information or specific timeline regarding a potential resumption of peace negotiations.
