Russia escalates rhetoric against Ukraine and Poland

Russian officials have issued heightened rhetoric regarding the conflict in Ukraine and threats toward neighboring NATO members. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Moscow intends to intensify attacks to destroy Western military support for Kyiv. He rejected calls for a ceasefire at current contact lines, arguing that such a move would erase the achievements of previous generations who defeated Nazism.

Simultaneously, Russian intelligence chief Sergey Naryshkin issued warnings directed at Poland and the Baltic states. Naryshkin accused these nations of aggression and suggested that in the event of a confrontation between NATO and the Russia-Belarus union, Poland and the Baltics would be the first to face consequences. This follows a surge in Russian propaganda targeting Poland, including claims regarding the deployment of anti-tank mines and potential American nuclear weapons.

In response to these provocations, Polish President Andrzej Duda has defended his nation, noting that Russia is the party responsible for relocating nuclear weaponry.
