Russia expands geopolitical rhetoric toward Europe and the Baltics
Russian propaganda and Kremlin officials are increasingly framing the conflict in Ukraine as a mere interim phase, suggesting that Russia's national interests extend to the Baltics and Asia. Prominent propagandist Vladimir Solovyov has characterized war as a ‘natural state for Europe.’
Concerns are rising regarding a potential reshaping of European influence, particularly following announcements by US President Donald Trump regarding a diesel fuel agreement with Moscow that would lift certain sanctions. While Russian propagandists welcomed the potential for increased budget revenue from such a deal, the Kremlin has simultaneously maintained that it is not ready for any peace negotiations or talks.
Additionally, the rhetoric suggests a push to replace Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, which analysts view as a potential diplomatic victory for the Kremlin. Amidst these tensions, Russia has also accused Kyiv of attempting to interfere in Russian elections through drone attacks.
