Russia expresses willingness for Ukraine talks without ceasefire
At the BRICS summit in New Delhi, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov expressed Moscow's willingness to engage in negotiations with Ukraine. However, he explicitly stated that these talks would not include a simultaneous ceasefire, noting that the military operation would continue during any discussions.
Lavrov also reiterated an invitation for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to visit Moscow, describing the offer as a “huge gesture of goodwill.” Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov added that if Zelenskyy truly wishes to speak with Vladimir Putin, he should come to the Russian capital. Zelenskyy has previously rejected similar invitations.
Amid these diplomatic signals, the United States is reportedly intensifying efforts to facilitate renewed dialogue between the two nations. There is ongoing speculation regarding the possibility of a trilateral summit involving U.S. President Donald Trump to address the conflict.
