Russia faces resource exhaustion within two years, Ukrainian intelligence warns

Ukrainian military intelligence chief, Lieutenant General Oleh Ivaštšenko, warns that Russia may exhaust its military and economic resources within two years if current casualty rates persist. According to HUR, Russia recruits approximately 1,000 to 1,200 personnel daily, with a casualty rate of roughly 60 percent. Western intelligence and the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) corroborate high loss figures, estimating total Russian losses at approximately 1.4 to 1.5 million soldiers, including killed and wounded.

In Finland, discussions regarding the long-term implications of the war and relations with Russia continue. While emphasizing the necessity of maintaining strong border security and addressing hybrid threats, there are calls to consider Finland's economic stability and the potential for post-war dialogue. Observers note that Finland must balance its support for Ukraine with its own domestic economic challenges, such as high unemployment and the impact of severed trade and tourism ties in Eastern Finland.
