Russia intensifies strikes on Ukraine amid domestic political shifts

Russia is intensifying military actions against Ukrainian industrial and communication infrastructure, including steel plants and data centers, in response to Kyiv's long-range strikes on Russian energy facilities and civilian targets. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that these actions are necessary to ensure security and prevent further 'destructive blows' against Russian territory.

Amidst the ongoing conflict, recent Russian State Duma elections have seen the ruling 'United Russia' party secure a record 349 out of 450 seats. Observers note that Western efforts to isolate or defeat Russia have coincided with increased domestic social cohesion and support for President Vladimir Putin within the country.
