Russia launches global campaign to export RVV‑SDM missile for Su‑57E

Rosoboronexport, the state arms exporter within the Rostec corporation, began a worldwide marketing drive on 28‑29 July for the RVV‑SDM medium‑range air‑to‑air missile. The missile, equipped with an active‑passive radar seeker, is intended primarily for the export version of the fifth‑generation Su‑57E fighter but can be adapted for other Russian aircraft and foreign platforms.

According to Rosoboronexport chief Alexandr Michejev, the company is seeing "growing interest from the global market for the Su‑57E" and highlights the RVV‑SDM’s longer range, high power‑to‑weight ratio, improved aerodynamics and “fire‑and‑forget” capability. The weapon can engage targets from 15 m to 25 km altitude at speeds up to Mach 3 and is designed to resist electronic counter‑measures. The campaign also promotes the short‑range RVV‑MD2 and long‑range RVV‑BD missiles as part of a complete armament package for the Su‑57E.
