Russia launches massive airstrikes on Odesa and Kharkiv
Russian military forces launched extensive aerial attacks across Ukraine, targeting critical infrastructure in Odesa and Kharkiv. In the Odesa region, strikes hit industrial and port facilities, including a Kernel grain export facility near Chornomorsk. The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed responsibility for striking two Ukrainian cargo vessels in the Black Sea and fuel depots in Chornomorsk.
In Kharkiv, the second-largest city in Ukraine, the attacks caused significant casualties and destruction. Local officials reported that the use of guided aerial bombs and loitering munitions struck residential buildings and industrial zones. Reports indicate at least five deaths and dozens of injuries, including children. The strikes damaged multiple apartment buildings, a school, and an administrative building.
Additionally, a projectile struck a border crossing between Ukraine and Moldova at Palanca, resulting in minor injuries to a border official and damage to a travel bus. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called for international pressure to move Russia toward diplomacy, noting that the current focus remains on military strikes and destabilization.
