Kirovohrad region hit by massive Russian drone attack

The Kirovohrad region in central Ukraine experienced its largest Russian drone attack since the start of the full-scale invasion. Over 360 drones targeted 26 different locations, including industrial sites, logistics centers, and residential areas. The strike resulted in at least three deaths and six injuries, with five people hospitalized.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported that out of 580 Russian drones launched overnight, 536 were intercepted. In retaliation, a Ukrainian drone strike caused a fire at a Rosneft oil refinery in Russia's Ryazan region. President Vladimir Zelenskyy stated that while Ukraine briefly paused energy infrastructure strikes to comply with U.S. wishes, it will resume these operations due to ongoing Russian attacks on Ukrainian energy assets.

Separately, reports indicate that claims by Vladimir Putin regarding the capture of Sviatohirsk in the Donbas region are inaccurate. On-the-ground observations suggest the town remains under Ukrainian control, with the frontline located approximately 30 kilometers to the east.
