Russia launches missile strikes on Kyiv and Odesa

Russian missile strikes hit the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv and the city of Odesa during the early hours of Thursday, resulting in at least two deaths and six injuries, four of whom are in serious condition. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko issued urgent warnings via Telegram for residents to remain in shelters as ballistic missiles targeted the capital and the Chernihiv region.

Reports indicate that approximately 20 explosions were heard in Kyiv, including a strike by a 3M22 Zircon hypersonic missile on energy infrastructure. In the Dniprovskyi district, there are concerns that individuals may be trapped under rubble.

In the southwest, authorities in Odesa reported Russian strikes against the strategic Black Sea port city. These attacks occur amid a period of intensified strikes by both nations. Separately, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated at the UN Security Council that Moscow does not intend to pause its military operations in Ukraine.
