Russia loses approximately 13 military aircraft in five weeks

Russia has reportedly lost approximately 13 military aircraft between late September and late October. The losses include at least seven Su-34 fighter-bombers, one Tu-95MS strategic bomber, two Su-30SM fighters, one Mi-8 helicopter, and one Su-57 fifth-generation fighter that reportedly burned during engine startup.

The Su-34 fleet sustained the most significant damage, with seven aircraft destroyed and two others heavily damaged during October. Reports indicate these losses occurred during strikes on various airbases, including Khanskaya in Adygeya, Borisoglebsk in the Voronezh region, and Marinovka in the Volgograd region.

Other reported incidents include the crash of a Tu-95MS bomber in the Amur region and the loss of Su-30SM aircraft during training flights in the Kaliningrad region. The Su-57 incident occurred at the Akhtubinsk flight test center. These losses span a wide geographic range, from Kaliningrad to the Russian Far East.
