Russia offers Bizon anti-drone system to Egypt

Russia's state technology corporation, Rostec, is offering the Bizon short-range anti-drone system to Egypt. The Bizon is the export version of the Zubr system, which was officially announced to serve in the Russian military in early 2026.

Developed by Vysokokotochny Kompleks, a Rostec subsidiary, the Zubr system is designed to protect critical infrastructure, military sites, and industrial facilities. The system's radar station is capable of detecting both large and small aerial targets at distances of up to 1.5 km.

The Zubr's combat module features automated detection and interception capabilities, requiring minimal human intervention; operators only need to authorize the final firing command. The system can also receive target designation data from external detection sources. Each Zubr setup consists of four separate modules, each equipped with four 7.62mm PKT machine guns, a control station, and radar.
