Russia offers dialogue to Italy without preconditions

Russian Ambassador to Italy Alexey Paramonov stated that Russia is prepared to engage in dialogue to restore relations with Western European nations, including Italy, provided there are no preliminary conditions or demands. Paramonov noted that bilateral relations are currently at one of their lowest historical points.

The Ambassador criticized Italy’s military support for Ukraine, accusing the “arms lobby” of pushing the country toward a major European war for profit. He claimed Italian citizens are being subjected to continuous propaganda regarding support for Kyiv. However, Paramonov also acknowledged the existence of voices within the Italian opposition, civil society, and academia that advocate for a different approach to the conflict.
